## Project overview

An eight-blade industrial fan handles high heat loads and dusty air in a heavy fabrication building.

## The challenge

A heavy fabrication building combines furnaces and welding bays with a dusty, oily atmosphere. Ordinary commercial fans corrode and clog, while the heat load from process equipment keeps night-shift conditions uncomfortable.

## Our solution

An eight-blade heavy-duty HVLS fan with sealed, regreasable bearings and a protected motor was installed over the main bay, sized to dominate the airflow of the building cross-section and run continuously through all shifts.

## Equipment

- 8-blade industrial HVLS- Factory-direct supply with export documentation- Professional rigging and commissioning by the TierCooling team

## Results

Stable airflow across the main bay despite process obstructions, no maintenance flags since commissioning, and improved comfort for furnace-side crews.

## FAQ

### Can HVLS fans handle hot and dusty factory air?

Industrial HVLS fans are built for high-heat, dusty environments such as fabrication plants. Large-diameter blades move high air volumes at low speed, improving heat dissipation and reducing stagnant dust zones without the filtration burden of ducted systems.

### Why choose an eight-blade industrial fan for heavy industry?

Eight-blade designs balance airflow volume, stability and motor load, making them suitable for continuous operation in heavy industry where reliability under heat and dust matters more than maximum speed.

### Do HVLS fans reduce factory cooling costs?

Yes. By destratifying air and increasing perceived cooling through airflow, HVLS fans let facilities raise air-conditioning setpoints or run fewer local coolers, which lowers energy use across large floor areas.

### How are HVLS fans mounted in heavy industrial buildings?

They mount to roof steelwork or structural beams with engineered brackets. Installation includes vibration checks and safety cables, and blade clearance is planned around cranes and process equipment.
