## Project overview

High-volume, low-speed fans move air across the court with minimal noise, keeping players and spectators comfortable through every game.

## The challenge

Indoor courts trap warm, stratified air under the roof while the floor level stays stuffy. Conventional high-speed fans create noise and draught complaints, and air-conditioning a hall of this volume is prohibitively expensive to run.

## Our solution

We mounted two 7.3 m HVLS fans along the ceiling line, sized so their combined air columns overlap and cover the playing area plus spectator seating. Low operating speed keeps sound levels low enough for coaching and match play.

## Equipment

- HVLS 7.3 m × 2 units · indoor sports hall- Factory-direct supply with export documentation- Professional rigging and commissioning by the TierCooling team

## Results

Even court-wide temperatures, no draught complaints from players, and a fraction of the running cost of ducted cooling for the same floor area.

## FAQ

### Are HVLS fans suitable for indoor basketball halls?

Yes. Basketball halls have high ceilings where warm air stratifies and small fans cannot cover the court. HVLS fans move large air volumes at low speed, improving comfort for players and spectators from one or a few units.

### Will the airflow affect ball flight or play?

When units are sized and positioned correctly, air speed at court level stays gentle. The design intent is slow, even air replacement across the space, not directed blasts.

### Can HVLS fans run during games and events?

Yes. Low rotational speed keeps operating noise far below crowd and PA levels, so halls typically run fans continuously during training and matches.

### How many fans does a sports hall need?

It depends on floor area, ceiling height and obstruction layout. Suppliers select diameter and unit count from the hall drawings so airflow covers courts and seating zones evenly.
