## Project overview

HVLS fans cool production lines and workstations, cutting heat stress across long summer shifts.

## The challenge

Machines and processes push hall temperatures above 35 °C in summer. Heat stress at workstations slows output and raises safety incidents, and spot air-conditioners were costly and blocked material flow.

## Our solution

Two HVLS fans were installed along the production hall axis, interleaved with the existing extraction ventilation so fresh air is drawn across workstations instead of short-circuiting. Speed control is tied to shift hours.

## Equipment

- Two HVLS units · production hall- Factory-direct supply with export documentation- Professional rigging and commissioning by the TierCooling team

## Results

Workstation temperatures reduced by several degrees in equivalent conditions, fewer heat-stress complaints on long shifts, and a rapid payback versus the removed spot coolers.

## FAQ

### What size HVLS fan does a manufacturing workshop need?

Sizing depends on floor area and mounting height. Workshops commonly use fans in the 3-7 metre diameter class; suppliers select diameter and unit count from the layout so airflow reaches workstations without excessive velocity at bench level.

### Are HVLS fans better than multiple small fans in workshops?

For the same coverage, one HVLS fan replaces a grid of small high-speed fans, using less energy, creating uniform airflow instead of hot and cold pockets, and freeing floor and pillar space.

### Do HVLS fans help in winter?

Yes. Run at low speed in reverse or forward mode depending on model, they push warm stratified air from the ceiling back to the floor, reducing heating load in tall workshops.

### How noisy are HVLS ceiling fans?

Because they move large air volumes at low rotational speed, HVLS fans run much quieter than high-speed industrial fans, which matters in workshops where people work beneath them all shift.
