# HVLS Fans for Playgrounds & Sports Fields

Semi-outdoor sports venues - covered futsal courts, school playground canopies, grandstands and stadium concourses - sit in the hardest environment for comfort cooling: open sides, heat radiating from roofs, crowds in bursts. RDF **HVLS fans for playgrounds and sports fields** move up to 15,197 m3/min over the covered zone using an **IP64 gearless drive** rated for dust and splash, at under 39 dB(A).

## Why projects specify this RDF HVLS fan

- **IP64 sealed, gearless motor** tolerates the dust, rain splash and humidity of open-sided covered venues.
- **~1,450 m2 per 1.3 kW fan** makes canopy-level coverage of courts and spectator zones viable where ducted AC never could be.
- **Low-speed safety profile** above active play areas, with triple-bolt anti-drop hub and safety cable.
- **Comfort for intermittent crowds** - switch on before events; disperse venue heat that builds under metal roofs all afternoon.
- **Both 220 V and 380 V versions** to match municipal school or stadium power supplies.

Airflow at maximum speed per the manufacturer type test; running speed is infinitely variable. The 5.2 m model's printed "14 ft" in the source brochure is a brochure typo; the manufacturer's Chinese-market spec table lists 5.2 m = 17 ft, the correct conversion.

## Semi-outdoor design considerations

These installations are engineered as covered-environment fans, not weather-exposed units: the IP64 motor tolerates splash and dust but the fan should remain under a permanent canopy with the electrical connection made to outdoor-rated local code. Grandstands, swimming-pool enclosures and covered play courts are the typical scope.

Layout follows the shade structure: 6.2-7.2 m fans under high canopy roofs (8-15 m), 4.2-5.2 m units under lower school walkway and play-shelter roofs. We recommend confirming wind exposure and mounting structure with our engineering drawing before ordering for coastal or high-wind sites wind-load assessment documentation can be arranged for export projects upon request.

## Ordering the HVLS fan for playgrounds, sports fields and covered venues

- **MOQ:** 10 units
- **Lead time:** 10 units in about 5 days; 100 units in about 20 days; 500 units in about 60 days - schedule varies by model and production plan, confirmed per order
- **Trade terms:** FOB Shenzhen
- **Payment:** T/T - 35% deposit, 65% balance paid before shipment
- **Warranty:** 2-year warranty on the complete unit per the factory's warranty policy: motor 2 years, controller 2 years. Overseas spare-parts support (wear-parts list, quotation and dispatch lead time) is confirmed with your order.
- **Documentation:** CE conformity reports for the PMSM drive motor (EMC 2014/30/EU, LVD 2014/35/EU), IP-rating report and 7.2 m type-test reports (220 V / 380 V) are available with your order.

Send your floor dimensions, ceiling height and heat-load description (a sketch or photo is enough) - we reply with a model recommendation, layout and quotation within one business day via the [contact page](/contact/).

## Frequently asked questions

### Can the fan be installed outdoors?

It is IP64 rated for dust and splash and intended for covered or semi-outdoor spaces - a permanent roof or canopy is required. It is not rated for direct rain exposure or free-standing pole mounting.

### Does wind interfere with it?

In open-sided venues cross-winds alter the local air pattern but do not harm the fan; structure and controller are designed for normal building wind conditions. High-wind regions require a structural check, which we support with mounting drawings.

### How many fans does a covered five-a-side pitch need?

Typically one 7.2 m fan covers the court zone from a 9-12 m canopy; two 6.2-6.7 m units are used where the roof is lower or the pitch spans two bays. A canopy drawing is enough for a layout proposal.

### What power supply do school venues use?

Both 220 V single-phase and 380 V three-phase are available from 6.2 m upward; municipal venues more often have three-phase, smaller school canopies single-phase.

## FAQ

### What does HVLS mean?

High Volume, Low Speed: large-diameter ceiling fans that move a very large air volume at low rotational speed, covering big floor areas with gentle, even airflow instead of concentrated high-speed blasts.

### Why choose a PMSM direct-drive HVLS fan?

Permanent-magnet synchronous motors with direct drive run at high efficiency with fewer wearing parts than geared designs - meaning lower energy use, quieter operation and less maintenance over the fan's life.

### Which sites use HVLS ceiling fans?

Typical applications include factories, warehouses, gyms and sports halls, markets and malls, playgrounds and sports fields, and livestock farms - any large space where uniform airflow and lower energy cost matter.

### How is fan size and unit count decided?

Selection comes from floor area, mounting height and the obstruction layout of the site; suppliers model diameter and placement from drawings so airflow reaches working zones evenly.
