# RDF 26 Series Evaporative Air Cooler

The **RDF 26 series** is the high-airflow single-phase platform: **26,000 m3/h** maximum from the 1.5 kW F1 PMSM drive at 5.8 A on 220 V. This series page gives the engineering detail for buyers choosing between the A (side, 670 mm outlet) and C (top, 730 mm outlet) discharge versions for factory-wide ventilation cooling projects.

## Why factories choose RDF evaporative cooling

- **Proven cooling pad.** 100 mm Type-5090 cooling pad with evaporation efficiency above 80%; corrugated cellulose gives roughly 100x the water-to-air heat-exchange area of a flat surface.
- **Real temperature drop.** 4-10 C cooler supply air in humid climates and 4-15 C in hot, dry climates, with continuous fresh air instead of recirculated indoor air.
- **About 1 kWh per hour.** A typical RDF unit uses roughly one unit of electricity per hour - about one fifth of the capital cost and one tenth of the running cost of compressor air conditioning for the same area (manufacturer figures).
- **One model per 200 m2-class zone** in typical industrial layouts, reducing installed unit count versus 18k platforms.
- **1,300/1,325 mm cabinet** with the same pad and maintenance architecture as the RDF23 it sits beside in the range.

## Technical specifications

| Model | Voltage | Max. airflow (m3/h) | Std. airflow (m3/h) | Current (A) | Power (kW) | Dimensions LxWxH (mm) | Air outlet (mm) | Weight (kg) | Tank (L) | Panel |
| ----- | ------- | ------------------- | ------------------- | ----------- | ---------- | --------------------- | --------------- | ----------- | -------- | ----- |
| RDF26A/F1 | 220V/50Hz | 26,000 | 21,800 | 5.8 | 1.5 | 1100x1100x1300 | 670x670 | 63 | 25 | LCD |
| RDF26C/F1 | 220V/50Hz | 26,000 | 21,800 | 5.8 | 1.5 | 1100x1100x1325 | 730x730 | 66 | 35 | LCD |

Standard airflow measured under GB/T conditions; maximum airflow in free discharge. A = side discharge, B = bottom discharge, C = top discharge; 11/12 suffixes mark outlet-ducting variants; /BT = single-phase; /SF = high-airflow PMSM version.

## Selecting within the RDF26 series

Choose **RDF26A/F1** for wall and steel-support mounting with a 670x670 mm horizontal outlet and 25 L tank (63 kg). Choose **RDF26C/F1** for rooftop/down-discharge positions with a 730x730 mm outlet and 35 L tank (66 kg). Both use the identical 1.5 kW PMSM motor, 5090 pad and LCD control.

Like the rest of the range, the series supports GK800 central control (up to 32 units) and mixes freely in one building with RDF18/23 units for zones of different heat load.

## Frequently asked questions

### How much can an evaporative cooler lower the temperature?

Brochure figures are 4-10 C in humid climates and 4-15 C in hot/dry climates. The closer the outdoor air is to saturation, the smaller the drop - ventilation benefit remains. We size from your local temperature and humidity data.

### Does it work when it is humid?

Yes - the mechanism shifts toward ventilation and air movement. The large fresh-air volume keeps workshops acceptable even at 70-80% RH; for sealed spaces the compressor-based RDF low-carbon range is the alternative.

### Is the RDF26 PMSM-only?

In the current 2026 catalogue the 26,000 m3/h platform is listed as the F1 PMSM version only - no 380 V standard-induction RDF26 is listed in the current catalogue; ask us and we will confirm custom-build options with the factory.

### How does RDF26 compare with RDF23 on cooling effect?

Both use the same pad and water system, so the achievable 4-15 C supply-air drop is the same physics; the RDF26 delivers about 13% more air for larger or hotter zones in the same 1.5 kW motor power band thanks to the PMSM drive.

### How much water and electricity does it use?

Power is roughly 1 kWh/h for the 18,000-26,000 m3/h axial platforms; water use varies with humidity and bleed settings. Nominal water consumption per the manufacturer's Chinese-market data: about 60 L/h for the 18,000 m3/h class and about 100 L/h for the 23,000 m3/h class.

### How often must the cooling pad be replaced?

With normal water quality and Class-I anti-algae treatment the 5090 cellulose pad lasts multiple seasons; replacement is a tool-free panel job. Maintenance schedule and pad pricing ship with the quotation.

## FAQ

### How does an evaporative air cooler work?

Evaporative cooling pulls hot outside air through water-wetted pads; evaporation removes heat from the air, delivering cooled airflow into the space. It works best in hot, dry climates where the evaporation effect is strongest.

### What is the difference between side, top and bottom discharge?

Discharge direction decides installation: side-discharge units mount on walls and blow across or into ducting, top-discharge units suit roof mounting with downward delivery, and bottom-discharge variants feed airflow through a raised plenum. The right choice depends on building structure and airflow path.

### What maintenance does an evaporative cooler need?

Routine care means keeping the pads and water system clean, checking the pump and drain, and winterising the unit in cold regions. Maintenance frequency rises with dust levels in the workshop.

### Do evaporative coolers work in humid climates?

Cooling effect depends on the gap between air temperature and wet-bulb temperature, so output drops in very humid weather. In mixed climates they are often sized as part of a hybrid system with HVLS fans or low-carbon air conditioning.
